Look closer

Shaped for one job, done properly.

Two slots set at a slight tilt, so a pair of boards stand apart with air on every face.

The Duo Stand — Teak Board Stand

01

Two cradles, cut deep

Each slot is carved out of the solid piece rather than assembled, and takes a board up to 1.3 inches thick.

02

A deliberate lean

The cradles sit at a slight angle, so a board settles back against the teak instead of standing dead upright and sliding.

03

A rail underneath

A turned rail ties the two sides together and lifts the boards clear of the counter, so water runs off rather than pooling.

04

Marked, not stickered

The Javanti Kayu name is burned into the side of the teak, so it is still there in ten years.

Before you order

Questions, answered plainly.

Will it hold the X-Large board?

No. Each slot takes a board up to 1.3 inches thick, and the X-Large Block is 1.5 inches. The Large Block at 1.2 inches fits. For the X-Large, use the Solo Stand, which takes boards up to 2.4 inches.

Do the two boards touch?

No. The slots are separated across the piece, so both boards have air on every face and neither leans on the other.

Why store a board upright?

A wooden board left flat holds moisture against the counter on one side. Standing it up lets both faces dry at the same rate, which is what keeps a board flat over the years.

What is it made of?

Solid Indonesian teak, cut and shaped by hand in Jepara, then finished with oil. Teak is dense and naturally oily, which is why it stands up to a wet kitchen.

How do I care for it?

Wipe it with a damp cloth and dry it. Give it a little mineral oil once in a while if the colour starts to look dry. Do not put it in the dishwasher.
